We need a big, high quality second row with a bit of dog in him.

I've stated elsewhere that I think one of the reasons we have seen our pack dominated is that all the size is in the front row. Which means that if you shut down the front row you shut down Saints. The second row is just too lightweight and hasn't got the size and power to engage in grind out trench warfare football.

Vea while not top quality, is in the category of being a big backrow, as he weighs in at around 105 kg.
We need someone else of that size or bigger, or hope Joe Greenwood kicks on next season.

That way we could put out a backrow able to play tight to the ruck, giving us the equivalent of 4 props on the pitch at once. Or else use them on the edges close to the centres to cause devastation out wide.

The current backrowers are to all intense and purposes extra centres.

If sneyds said he wants to go, then by forcing him to stay next year ensures he'll be going once his times up. According to the twitter commentary he was put on the wing today? Seemed like a waste to me!

A clone of Amor would be excellent and exists in huby (right down to the beard) but seems unlikely. Maybe ghostmont is the answer???

I'm nervous though, I can't help but feel he has to be worth the wait, and rip up some trees when he finally makes it on the pitch ... But he wasn't exactly setting the world alight at hull Kr!

If we have Vea. Drop LMS to second row as his most ardent fans don't think he is a prop and buy in another rough house prop.

Lms, Vea, (Manu), (Greenwood) and Savelio are our second row options for next year, given Soliola is confirmed and Flanaghan has been told to look elsewhere. If we don't retain both greenwood and Manu, another top line back row has to be brought in, even with lms dropping to the back row. If both are retained, I'd still like another depth signing back rower, like Addy or McMeekan, to replace Flanaghan.

(Wilkin and charnock are the two lock options.)

Its all about strength in depth and for me LMS is rotation from the bench, be it backrow or prop.

People also forget we have Beamont who when he finally plays will in effect be a new signing for us.

Forget numbers in the Backrow and think quality. We can't lose Sia and maybe Manu and not replace them, we need one top quality secondrow as well as Vea coming in.

Did you see Lms play in the secondrow against Wigan on Good Friday? I can't defend out wide. Lms for me is just a squad player and shouldn't play unless we have injuries.

Does anyone know what's happening with greenwoods contract? Is he being re-signed?

His contract won't match that description unfortunately. He's gone backwards. Not physically up to it, he's to small, not strong enough.
