Rob Fairclough is the scrum half. Great effort from the Saints lads as for me that Wigan team is far superior. They have cherry picked the best young talent again from across the country. Heckford is from Wakefield.

Maybe that's where Wigan are spending some of the transfer money they have received, investing in young players and scouting/recruitment. Good business IMO.

U19's game tonight Saints 20 Wigan 64

Far too one sided to be a good game, but Wigan did score some spectacular tries, one from Hampshire when he dummied three players and then beat another two to go under the posts probably the pick.

The Wigan winger Forsyth who I believe played for Thatto Heath scored two tries and looks like a young Joe Burgess.

It was a shock as Wigan have lost four of their five games so far this season. At full strength both teams were missing players but was the magnitude of the score that took me by surprise.
Saints could have selected Richards, Thompson, Savelio, Charnock and Fozard, but Wigan could have selected Burgess, Williams, Tierney, Bretherton and Shorrocks.

Wigan couldn't have selected Bretherton, he's out injured for a while.

It was but to be fair Wigans pack was dominant and that's where Saints were missing most of their players, It's difficult now with U17's, 18's and 19's all playing in the same age group, something which never should have happened.

I agree. I know quite a few lads that have said that a number of them are missing out a year playing at 16/17 because they aren't big enough/ready to be selected yet. They can't play u19s because they aren't ready so go on dual reg with their amateur side but learn nothing because it's too easy for them, and they all end up playing for the same team anyway, such as last year a lot of Saints lads played at Thatto u18s.

He's out for the season, but I was looking at the strongest sides if all players were available. I could have added David Thomson to that Wigan side,
