I'm a saints fan but also a rugby league fan. I've been playing/watching rugby for 26 years, it's in my blood and live it but this idiot Dr claims to want the "best for rugby league" which is utter BS.

He's treating Rugby league like it's his toy. He wants to waltz in and turn the gams into the 80s where we had one team domination because they have the money. That's not for the good of the game, it's for the good of Salford and it's not sustainable.

The way the league is set up he can't do anything without other chairmen helping him. He does a lot of talk but most of it is just that. People get wound up by him saying he will sign x, y and z but really all he is doing is making sure in the morning Salford are mentioned in the press.

ie putting in a £25k bid for Bradford.

A completely none Salford related story, but for the effort of showing he had £25k going spare he gets Salford up in the papers. No real intention to buy, but it keeps Salfords profile high.

He's a PR mans dream. He's increased Salfords crowds over 100% since taking charge. That's his goal the rest is chaff for free publicity.

But he's serious that he wants the salary cap scrapped and serious he wants the marquee signing rule brought in.

He's spouted how he wanted tomkins and brought in mullany (spelling), he then spouted he wanted billy slater and brought in mullany (sp), he spouted he wanted SBW and brought in Hock, he spouted he wanted Sam burgess and got TP.

Not exactly the stars he promised and not exactly doing well for the cash they spent.

That's what PR men do, they put a big shiney poster up with a top of the range car as an example. That draws them in, then you sell em the old banger from round the back.

No but were happy with the alternatives to Lee Gaskell, Wayne Godwin, Stephen Wild, Ryan McGoldrick etc who we had last season.

I don't mind him too much but he seems to think he can buy instant success. He simply doesn't understand it takes time to build a successful team.

It's pretty clear when we played them that we was a team that's grown together and they a team that's been thrown together.

I doubt noble signed them players, I think he did and with no thought of if they would gel or how balanced the team is. He's just seen names and thrown cash at them.

It will go the way Blackburn has with the venkys.

They're obviously a team cobbled together, and they look unbalanced, as Koukash has weighted the cap space toward a couple of expensive signings. He had a lot to learn when he bought the club, and it's crucial he learns the lessons.

But overall I think you're being unfair on him. Salford as a club was moribund and facing financial oblivion. They've now improved attendances, grabbed headlines, and elbowed their way toward a seat at RL's top table.

The project will by necessity need to be several years long; we'll see if he's good for Salford overall when we know if he has the patience & staying power to see it through to success.
