Fair enough. So if he had picked it up in goal. Then it could not be a penalty try as it would not have been offside.

Meli was running towards the ball which was ahead of him. I'm not saying he would have caught up with it but he wasn't at the stage of reaching for the ball. He was prevented from getting to that stage by Tomkins, who stood in front of him and tackled him. It was a blatant professional foul.

I think people saying that was a professional foul need to take a look at it again the ball is gone and both go for eachother.

I will get back to you once I have watched it again but I remember it as being ahead of them both and Meli hadn't even gotten to the tryline when Samkins strode across him and gave him a hug. It was weird because the ball was nowhere near either of them at the time. Meli just looked surprised.
