Dont know why certain individuals are knocking JT and Manu. I thought Manu was one of our better players, and so far this season i have thought Turner has been solid in every game he has played. He is no world beater, but i never expected that. He is a good player who offers more than Shenton did to the team both in attack and defence.
Manu I like. He's a quality player, but his game is being ruined by him playing too many minutes because we have no strength on the bench. He's a player who should be limited in game time in order to make more of an impact when he is on. The more minutes he plays, the lower the impact he'll have on the game will be.
I really don't agree with you on Turner. He cannot defend, our right flank is going to be a massive weakness with him at centre. I'd love to see some stats on where we concede breaks, his channel would be top of the list I'd bet. Going for, what exactly does he offer? I've seen him play five times in the V now and I'm already sick to death of the run up, hop, skip and fall over approach he has. Our backs should be told to carry the ball in like Ade Gardner does. Turner doesn't seem to have any of the natural ability to run dangerous lines that the better centres do, he is obviously a very good athlete, but I think that is his only attribute, he doesn't seem to have any natural talent for the game.
Percival looked terrific. He looked very pacy and could be deadly with a decent winger outside him, someone like Dixon from London or Broughton. Defensively he did fine, only showing his naivity once when he shot out of the line and tickled Ablett.
