Rediculous idea, its a contact sport, if you dont like it play football

The RFL seem incapable of making decisions and offer no leadership. Going back on a ruling they made two months ago is clear and sad evidence of this. Why not just let the ARL make our laws and cut out the middle men. The ruling itself is a bad one, most of the dangerous tackles that happen are illegal anyway. If a player makes a challenge with a shoulder or head and it makes contact with the opponents head it is a high tackle. Having a clamp down on this would have been much better. “A player that goes recklessly into a tackle and makes contact with the opponents head with any part of his body will be sent off” would have been a much clearer line to draw. Now fans, players and especially commentators will be confused to what is deemed a shoulder charge for the rest of the season.

Anyone see George Rose's tackle in the All-Star game? Great shot penalised because it was a shoulder charge, but not dangerous in the slightest.

Maybe the players unions need to contact the rfl and tell them that the players themselves would like the shoulder charge back and the rfl to grow a spine and penalise high and late shots better than they do now.

Shoulder contact to the head is dangerous, shoulder barges aren't. Everyone else can see it, but the RFL can't.

Playing devils advocate.

It's fine for pro-players to be saying we know the risks as they get the rewards. The governing bodies have to cover all levels of the game, where there is less medical care for players concussed and less expertise to decide if an injury is serious or not on the field of play.

I played for 8 years at Blackbrook and in that time saw several people knocked out cold,from banging their head on a hard pitch to swinging arms to the head and in that time i never saw anyone get knocked out by a shoulder charge.Now im not saying it doesnt/cant happen as im sure it does but like the pros the amatures take to the field knowing full well they could get injured and leave the field in an amulance in some cases that ive seen.
