The lad came on and showed aggression and enthusiasm (more than what Perry has showed in 2/3 seasons). Yes he made a few unforced errors, but he'll learn from that.

The highlighted bit is why i think he is out of his depth. For me he has been thrown in too early. I would rather we played either Jordan Hand or Karl Foster in this match as they have at least been around the professional environment for longer, and would be under less pressure to perform, due to them not having been hyped up.
Walmsley needs a good 18 months of coaching. I'm reminded in many ways of Fa'asavalu. He was clueless and unfit when he came to Saints but after 2-3 years we had molded him into a top quality impact player.
I hope we can work on Walkmsley and make him something more than Maurie, but i fear we wont do that by throwing him to the lions each week.
