Re: Are the Bulls desperate??? : Sat Nov 10, 2012 1:32 pm
With a few exceptions on the topic of Jamie Foster, the phrase "with friends like you, who needs enemies?" comes to mind. What has the lad done wrong to deserve such venom and mindless criticism? He had a nightmare game against the bulls early last season and some of his defence wasn't great but did anyone play particularly well (Robes always excepted!) for the first six weeks of the season? Have we already forgotten the previous season when his profile was particularly high - that brilliant try against Wigan, swapping hands with the ball and scoring in the corner? Additionally, unlike Meli, he could generally cope with a high ball in defence. I watched him play in a couple of Hull's televised games this season. He scored tries, defended well and kicked lots of goals so why dismiss him like this?
Our academy system is reportedly excellent but then we simply let our young players go elsewhere, having had little chance to prove themselves in the first team. I have to say I'm disapppointed with the decision to let him go and even more disappointed with the callous remarks from some of you lot....!
From comments I've heard last season when standing behind the posts at Langtree Park, my son and I aren't the only ones who'll be disappointed that Saints have let him go.
Good luck, Jamie.
