Think if Wheeler has one more bad game in a Saints shirt he's doomed. I'm not saying he won't get game time in the future. But I can't see him receiving any further extensions.

Gardner laffranchi and meli injured. Wheeler dropped. Will that be the last we see of him in the red vee? Can see him lining up alongside foster next year. For Salford. Maybe in three years we will be fighting the goons for his signature.

Err, no. Hohaia has at least put the graft in even if it hasn't gone right for him. In many games this season Wilkin hasn't even showed up.

I've always backed wheeler as I've seen him as kid and kept a eye out for him but I'm starting to feel he's just a waste of a salary, he's constantly injured and never gets match fit due to him not putting enough games together.

It seems the big pay rises we give to our "golden generation" looks a complete waste of money.

As most know on here, I'm no wilkin fan but at least he offers some sort of kicking game. Lance is worst kicker I've ever seen, he can't find the grass, every kick straight down wingers or fullbacks throat.

One bad game in 2 years and he's gone? I'm not sure about that, especially given the amount of bad games players like Meli have had. McManus hasn't exactly been ruthless with players in the past. But, I do think he's a bit of ticking time bomb at the moment and it's time for him to put a run of games together (first team or reserves) and get some confidence and form together, otherwise we won't have a choice but to release. Luckily for Wheeler he has 2 years to prove himself.
