We did, but we switched off when we'd won the game (hence Wanes disappointment). I can't see that happening today.

I know Wigan switched off, as did Meli verse Wakey. My point is more that IMO wigan are not as clinical defensively as in previous years, there are holes that can be punched through, it's about our halves being able to exploit those holes. If Lance wants to get people on his side he needs to turn up for this one and be effective.

People say our forwards are not agressive enough, but I don't see that as the case, they generally all tackle well and gain the meters up the feild, we quite often make it from our half to the oppositions, but once there it's down to your halves to offer something. Last week we where very Roby oriantated, with the ball being rarely shipped beyond the 2nd rowers. Our halves need to find those gaps in the wigan line and put people through them and not just keep turning the ball inside for 70 mins.

I think you've been very Roby orientated for a few years tbh but you always had Graham to fall back on. I'm not saying you're a 1 or 2 man side because obviously you have quality across the park, but its rare to see a Saints win if Roby (or Graham in previous years) doesn't fire.

In a way we have become one man orientated but it's not that the rest are not capable, they are just directed otherwise. The game against Leeds was so different, the ball regularly got to the centres and we hit gaps out wide. Just because a top tennis player has a great fore arm smash, he does not try to engineer the game so he can use it all the time. It becomes less effective the more you use it as the better sides just know they need to counter one aspect of your game.

Better to have a range of weapons and use them all, rather than just using the same tank over and over and over.

We're a little that way with Sam at times I think.

Didn't Wigan have 28 points against them the week before they put a score on us at Langtree park.

I dont think the is much between the two teams but I thick there style of play kills us. It's hard to put into words what I mean as we are pretty even but expect them to win easy.

Believe we are more than capable of beating them when in form but with a few returning from injury being a little under done, think we'll fall short. Expect plenty of points though....Saints 20 Pie Gobblers 31.

When we go to sleep against the lesser clubs it is but against what i'd call the 'top' clubs we conceded....

Huddersfield 20
Leeds 6
Catalans 12
Warrington 22
St Helens 10
Hull FC 12

Average per game- 13.66 points

Against the same teams Saints have conceded-

Huddersfield 17
Leeds 6
Catalans 34
Warrington 16
Wigan 28
Hull FC 22

Average per game- 20.5 points

Saints defence in the big games has been decent enough to be honest but ours in the main has been very good and far from vulnerable when it remains switched on and agressive.

Means little on a match by match basis though as anything can happen.
