I am sure that is why our friend from Widnes is asking the question. I do not have any issue with Lee spending a few weeks in the second team. Players get injured all the time so he will get a chance at some point. If not then he can go out on loan.

You have to remember he is still a young player in his second season and has signed up long term. He will probably benefit from having a few weeks off to work on his game and fitness.

Got Lance & J-Lo playing well at the moment, then Wheeler & Wilkin can both cover halves if needed and I think it could do him good

Not for me. Gaskell is good enough for first grade and we'll need him later in the season when defences get tougher and big kicking games become more important. Wilkin should only play in the halves in an absolute emergency.

gaskell aint tied down to a long term deal is contract up end of next season

He signed a three year deal last season (when his contract was up). That would take him to the end of 2014.

Gaskell will make it, whether or not it is at Saints will be down to his physical development IMO. He could be devastating with a stone or two more on him. He's a very good player with lots of potential, I'm almost certain he'll forge a career in SL.
