Catalan did that really successfully against us at Langtree park, and by the last 15 minutes Lomax was completely shot to pieces physically, and unable to offer anything in attack

Wigan will be fresh as daisies against us on friday. They rested both Oloughlin and Richards, and Tomkins and Mossop apparently played no more than 30 minutes of the match against Salford.

Sean Wayne is clearly targeting the Saints match for a big win, and personally i can see it, as i think Wigan will be physically a game too far for us to get up for. We were flagging for the last 30 mins against wire. So next Friday i think we will struggle to handle Wigan.

Sam played about 65 minutes. Lockers has been struggling a bit, but didn't Saints rest Puletua? Ben Flower was taken off with what looked like a serious thigh injury and Mossop didn't return after his initial twenty minutes (rested or injured, I don't know).

Looking forward to Friday, I can't call it, but Lomax WILL be targeted, as Saints will target Finch. Hock is running amok for Wigan at the moment and will cause havoc if he picks the right time to offload and the right time to stick.

to be fair a 5 day turn around with Leeds and wire on either side would tire any team. We've got an extra couple of days to fit some rest in before friday.

After playing both sides in past two weeks, if both play like they have been there will only one winner and that'll be Saints. Saints should have won by a lot more than 12 last night and would have if Lomax had more confidence to go on his own. A lot of the time he made a break or had the ball and a wide open gap he just stopped and did a shuffle instead of going for it.

Saints will always beat Wigan for my money if we play to maximum of our ability and get the tactics right as we have just a little bit more quality than they do in the key areas. I fancy the Lord Mayor's Show will carry us for one more game and think we'll do them in a fairly close one on Friday. It's then that the hard work starts for the new guys to make sure we're up to beating them again later in the season when it matters.

Why do you think any of that is something Saints, let alone anyone on here, doesn't already know? If you haven't seen evidence in the last 2 games that targeting one player won't be enough to stop Saints then you clearly haven't been watching. The brand of rugby we are playing is difficult to defend against, let alone when a team has as leaky a defence as Wigan. Wane has been a repeated combination of 'gutted' and 'devastated' about your defence this year (appears that's the limit of his oratory skills, poor chap).

20 points shipped against Salford and unconvincing, doesn't sound like your targeting their go to players was all that effective so JL won't have too much lost sleep.

As for Hock, I'm looking forward to seeing how much he 'runs amok' when he gets walloped by Soliola a couple of times. Hock's a good player but has a questionable temperament when things don't go well - I have no doubt he'll be on the receiving end of some heavy treatment on Friday as one of Wigan's runners.

Mossop out is a big one for you. TP back for us.

Lomax can tackle really hard. The thing is with the current set up, if you run at the small guys like Lomax, then they will tackle until they are spent, but that will leave the likes of TP and Sia as fresh as daisies.

TP aint no slouch and can really shift through the gears.
