I have to agree, I obviously don't see the training first hand but conditioning certainly seemed to be lacking under Mick Potter's tenure, and we seem to be more injury prone than anything these days which could be a complete coincidence or a lack of correct procedure.

Wigan have shown what a top level strength and conditioning coach can do to improve performance levels, Mark Bitcon was probably as important a 'signing' as Michael McGuire. As McGuire was one before he became an assistant coach, I imagine he noticed the importance of it in the modern game.

How can you be so sure that there's a connection? When was the last team you were given a workout by our conditioning team? Are you posting on the Warrington board about Ratchford suggesting their conditioning isn't good enough? What about Bradford? Isn't it possible that these injuries may have something more to do with it being a collision sport that they participate in as opposed to the perceived non-contribution of the conditioning team?

True, there is every chance we are just suffering from a sustained run of bad luck, but looking at the amount of injuries we have had since AP left, even the most open minded of individuals has got to think that something isn't right?

perhaps the coaches who worked with AP were more inclined to play players with niggling injuries, under painkilling injections. Royce has said a number of times that he wont risk anyone with a minor injury at the current stage of the season.

But that doesn't explain the awful injury problem we had last year or those of the previous two years. The problems with injuries began about a third or so into the first season of Mick Potter's tenure. The high number of injuries has now spanned two coaches. Therefore, considering the possibility that the conditioning/fitness regime at Saints might actually be the problem is no longer far fetched. It's a pity the club is unlikely to be considering that possibility given its strident denials of problems last season.

A fourth year of poor fitness cannot be luck or coincidence.

What's the numbers on this? What are the injuries? Who was injured? What is their track record with injuries? How were these players injured?
