Royce post match interview made me laugh. He said roby getting hurt forced him in to putting lance on and the ruined his plan to how he was going to use lance.
In other words, he was going to give him 5 mins at the end.
Im a giants fan who went to the game today. My personal point of view is that we was 2nd best to your team today. Im sure the stats will show you had more possession and more plat of the balls than we did. Our defence won us the game and once again brough was the main difference between the 2 sides. The way saints fans are talking that we was brilliant today but personally i feel we was snd best and we can play a lot better
Mike Critchley's match report in the St Helens Star is very good and worth a read. I think it sums up the impression of the match I got from the commentary and I would be interested to hear from those people who went to the match whether they agree with his assessment.
It's a fairish report, with a bit too much tabloid style to it. The kick from Gaskell was a short kick, yes it went straight to hands, but there were ample men to tackle him. Like nearly the entire team. I think he's right about the props. La Franki wass good in the time he was on, and his injury in the first half probably stopped us pressing further. TP having to rotate alot quicker. I would say in the pack, TP, Sia, La Franki, Lance, Flanaghan, Dixon late on, all pressed well and gave us something.
Sia also was a liability in the 1st half giving up massive posistion and territory 3 times when we had them penned in their own half. (just cause he is one of our best does not mean there is not room for improvement).
LMS, hmmm not sure,
CLough tries with all his heart, but does not look like he will bust a line or offload ever, hope he proves me wrong, but maybe has gone as far as he can.
Wilkin did something criminal today and turned his back on the play the ball, think it was Brough who saw it and ran straight past him.
But overall I thought we matched them blow for blow. Meli was the one screaming out to me to be replaced, others made errors for certain. Meli did nothing that gave the match away, but I just seamed to be disappointed with nearly all his touches. He only seamed bothered when a huddersfield man upset him, so he bashed him hard in a tackle, but the rest of the time he seamed to be pulled, here there and everywhere, over ran balls, passed balls to the floor.
I just think we need to cut the cord, he can be awesome and fearsome in attack, but not consistently enough and not reliable enough.

The change to the plan worked though, I hope he saw that, because everyone else did. Lance was a spark and did really well. More of that please. It works.

I've not been impressed by Wilkin this season. I think he's gotten a little too big for his boots. He was on Twitter whinging about a sore nail yesterday, how he 'loves his job', and I really wanted to tweet back that if he loved his job so much then he should get the finger out rather than whinge about it!

I'm sure I read somewhere that he's making far more metres than he used to. Perhaps he's just working harder and it's reducing his quality?
