The club have weighed up the risk of waiting and exposing him to other offers or getting him signed up now.

They've made the right decision without question.

Gary wheeler is a very quite lad, like I said at the time, he's not the sort to be jumping about.

I'm pleased about this. I've got no qualms whatsoever about his ability. Obviously there is an ongoing issue with injuries, but hopefully that is something that will stop as he physically matures. It's a risk, but when measured against the potential of the player it's a worthwhile one.

Good news.

Wheels is ALL CLASS.

He has great ability great footwork and could become a very talented player.

His development has only been slowed by his health and that is the ONLY worry.

Fingers crossed he can put a long run together and prove his worth.

It's a good move. Yes, Wheeler has suffered more than his fair share of knocks. But most have been to different parts of the body and there is no real evidence of any long standing issues.

I can't imagine uncertainty over his future at the club has done his game any favours. Hopefully he can now concentrate solely on realising his potential as it's pretty clear the kid has talent.

Made up he has signed, just need to play him in his ideal position now, as mentioned on another thread he was ripping Wigan to bits at stand off before Hoffman took him out late and put him back on the treatment table

A good decision for me. He's a talented player who would be pushing for an International place had injuries not blighted his career. This may be his last contract at the club though if he doesn't get over those injuries worries though IMO.

Let's hope he does.
