If I was a teenager, Tommy Makinson would be my hero.
As it is I left teenhood behind some time ago and so I can only look upon him as a young guy with oodles of talent and great attitude. He tackles with courage, conviction and skill. He reads a game well. He puts on some great spontaneous plays - the classic so far being the best try of the 2011 GF in my view. He is secure with the ball, no matter which direction it comes from, and seems to be fearless when jumping for a bomb. He has great pace and a neat step. All that is wrapped up in probably one of if not the best attitude in the whole of the Saints team. He never whinges or stamps his foot. He never gives in. He has a winner's attitude that I wish most of the rest of the team would adopt. He could be a real game changer of the future, just indeed as he was in the 2011 GF.
The only mistake I've seen him make since the early weeks of his first team career is the occasional drift inside but I have yet to see a single winger who doesn't fall for that temptation occasionally.
I think he is looking like our best young talent and yet he hardly ever gets a mention in dispatches.

The is no doubting his ability as he's got everything to be a top class player but his attitude which sets him a class above the rest. He has a never die attitude and big heart.
He's got the same mentality as sam tomkins and that is a great thing to have.
