I see the Vultures were out on friday charging £5 to park off peasley cross road and puting there traffic cones out stopping you parking on the road?
Can't be right, the police or council should do something?
I had a minor problem with these guys. They look official but I don't know whether they are. I tried to park on the corner of Jackson St and Ketterer Court (which runs off it) as I had done for the Widnes game without any problems.
I was accosted by a guy who threatened me with clamping and a £250 release fee (at least he warned me) as he said Ketterer Court was a private road and that the companies who occupied that estate didn't want any saints or other fans parking there. When I asked him why, he said they had a lot of problems at the Widnes game. I asked him what sort of problems as every business there is closed in the evenings but he would not elaborate, which made me think that these problems were just a made up excuse.
My parting shot was to ask him to thank these businesses for their unswerving support of the saints and their kind assistance to fans. He started to get a bit awkard with me so I gave up and left quickly like the chicken I am.
Ive no idea if Ketter Court is a private road ( i doubt it is but cant be sure without contacting the council ).Unless there are clear signs saying you cant park then no one can clamp you legally,no real help i know when they are there and confrontational.

saw some parking attendants near argos on the retail park.. where they giving out tickets?? if so they are unlawful anyway, loads of advice on the internet
Signs have gone up on the retail park to the effect that no parking will be allowed there on match days .....usual fines of £100 and/or towed away etc along with number plate recognition cameras being deployed.

Had a quick look at the terms of their 'contract' oddly I didn't see a time limit, simply 'leaving the site' is not allowed. Which is difficult to prove without a parking attendant.
There's no anpr cameras yet, however they generally only use them when there are time limits

Private parking penalties are pretty much unenforceable anyway - to legally get money off you, they'd need a court order, and to do that they need to take court action against the driver who had parked it (unlike the local authority-issued tickets, where the registered user is liable). In short, they're scared to death of taking a case to court because they know they'll lose and set a precedent.
The scum operating parking charge companies will deploy all manner of threatening actions to rty ot frighten you into paying (and also may send heavies round to your house) - but they have no legal powers and you can get any collection agencies to desist by telling them they're harrassing you, that you dispute the charge, and you'll contact the authorities if they continue to harrass you. Also, clamping cars on private land will also be made a criminal offence - http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/t ... ves-closer
Of course, if a car park closes a barrier to stop people leaving it's not much use. And I appreciate some of the scum deployed by parking companies are knuckle-dragging thugs who'll try to intimidate you.
But the overall message is, don't pay the parasites, just go to this site:

What if they say its a private road and threaten to clamp? How do you establish whether it is legal or not?
