I'd start with LMS just because tony p offersore impact and we've not nobody else.

I don't think LMS was as bad as you suggest last night, but I agree that he needs to step up now that Jammer has gone.

Lacks aggression, doesn't want to do the hard yards or the hard graft, he's more than happy doing the 30 meters tries that look good instead of doing his job.

He's the Jamie foster of the forwards.

For me Gaskell, Makinson and Ashe looked good. No stand outs in the pack, perhaps Franki in his second spell, also Dixon looked a bit of a handful, has he buked up a bit.

Dixon finished last season in pretty good form and looked good last night.

If he keeps playing well then royce can't ignore him, it's like the Gaskell situation last year, people was saying he wouldn't make the 17 when we was all fit but he kept playing well, great attitude and took the 6 spot off Leon

true but gaskell played most of the season before Leon came back and him and lomax didnt work that's why gaskell got his place back I think the same will happen this season gaskell on bench first few weeks lance and lomax won't work so he get his place back but the thing is with Dixon we have got a very strong backrow with sia Wilkin flannery flangan laffranki tony p

One of the things I like about Simmons is that he is prepared to go with the best option rather than the so-called star player. He is also prepared to have faith in our young players, which must inspire them.

I thought Dixon looked good last night, just as he did towards the back end of 2011. I was most impressed by Makinson who just walked on the pitch as if there had been no off season. He is a real talent. I also think Gaskell was excellent, another one who seemed at home on that pitch. Hohaia looks like he could be a handful with ball in hand and maybe, if Gaskell is played (which IMO he should be), Hohaia could be useful switching with Robes at hooker (I believe Hohaia has played effectively at hooker previously). I don't think Robes should be used for the full 80 if it can be avoided, regardless of whether he is in fact superman.

I couldn't make my mind up about anyone else really. What I do think is that not having Jammer working his butt off had two consequences: it showed up our lazy defenders and Roby looked a bit lost sometimes.

There's not many things the whole board agrees on, but Gaskell seems to be one. We have to start him.

Agreed again. I think he could play the role moore did last year - coming on, taking some of the responsibilty at DH, even if Robes stays on. He could add energy against tired defences.

lazy defenders

The slide defence seeemed off the pace, their guys getting on the outside of their marker often, but lets not forget, that was our first run out and Widnes had already had a couple.

Someone mentioned Perry looked rubbish!? I thought he was one of our best players, eating up the yards in contact and dragging the defenders in.
