It's not unusual, though, for a team with a decent but not matchwinning lead to throw everything at the opposition in the last 20 minutes - an opposition which naturally would be more concerned (anxious?) about protecting their lead rather than go on an offensive.

Other than Meli's brainfart, I never felt we were truly in danger of losing - indeed, the one time they got close to us, we went straight up the other end and redressed the balance - like the Saints of old.

Another 80 minutes like that from Saints, and we're at OT again, with every chance...

I dont, only a truely great team (like us 2006) can win the double with its current time in the calender

We might not have to - we'll either get an arguably easier opponent in Catalan or a Wigan team who could be running out of gas. And we'll have them at 'home'.

We have nothing to fear. Both Catalans and Wigoon will be home in the play offs. If we get to Old Trafford I'd rather face Wire than Wigoon.

We should aslo thank uncle Dave for forcing Wigoon and Cats to play on Sunday. Two less days recovery time for whoever wins after what will hopefully be a bruising battle could well be telling.

We've shown we can compete with Wire, we've shown we can beat Wigoon. The games will be tough, but there's no reason to say we can't win the competition.

We'd said that with the names we have, especially inthe forwards, we should be able to do something against wigan, but we've failed to turn in the sort of team performance they have so far.
Yesterday was different, we took the game to Wigan and played things on our terms.

There were period were you could see them geting on top at the PTB and from there started to eek back into the game, but then we'd muscle through and get back on our agenda.

I've been a big fan of the way wigan can move the ball and create space out wide, but they were failing against our defence. Although they threatened, we pushed them into a lot of sideways running.

I think our lads might even be able to play a little better, tbh. My only concern is that we may have bust a gut yesterday.

The sobering thought is that Wigan lost to Leeds at this point laast season, but came back to win the playoffs. However, a lot of people are saying their forwards look jaded and they have another fixture against a rather rumbustuous catalans pack. What do we think will happen next week?
