So the position is only Paul wellens's until a fullback arrives? Nobody can take any position unless they are that position?

Kyle is not only our no.7 but a no.7 who is leaving the club. He is defensively rubbish and would be a liability, especially given our generally lax attitude towards defence overall and our mushy forwards. You have had your head turned by a bloke who can run fast and step. You are forgotting he can't defend for toffee.

Think wellens will be outside the 17. Royce will only put one back on the bench which will be Pryce, who will cover stand off and full back position. Wellens probably will only play if Eastmond is not performing, which at the moment is not the case.
Can see some future games Wellens will get his shirt back, Pryce will get his shirt back, with Eastmond on the bench at the expense of Gaskell, who by then will be outside of the 17. Barring injuries of course.

So basically you basing your point on him not being at saints next year? Well neither is jammer.

Eastmond, love him or hate him is a very very talented young player. He has the world at his feet in either code if he applies himself how he can. He's got a lot more than just " running fast and a step".

Wello got hurt, eastmond came in and has played well enough IMO to warrant his place. Kyle has waited for his chance from when he was dripped and took it well.

If Wellens defence had been reliable this year I could understand some of the points on here, but he's had a poor season let's be honest both offensively and defensively. It may well have been that his injury has restricted him but he hasn't looked anywhere near as effective this year.

Eastmond's last few performances have been a higher standard than Wellens has been able to produce this year and for that he gets the nod for me, although I'm not sure Royce will see it the same.

I agree, wellens will get his place back, so eastmond's bench place will depend if pryce is fit to start the game. If he is I see eastmond on bench with Gaskell to miss out. Otherwise eastmond will lose out. Harsh but think Royce will go with it
