I would imagine Armstrong will be playing for Leigh in the Northern Rail Cup Final on Sunday, rather than being dropped.

As for the rest ... we look weak when compared to the beefy blokes from Perpignan but if Meli and Wilkin are truly ok to play (as opposed to playing even though they are not ok!) then we should be able to put up a decent fight - assuming we go with fight in us - if TP is shifted to prop. I just hope that the team will concentrate for the full 80 minutes, keeping hold of the ball and defending aggressively. Without good ball retention and aggressive defence, it won't matter who we play as we will just give the game away!

I think Ian Henderson will be playing in the halves with Menzies, so not exactly a disaster for them as Henderson has played there before and Menzies seems to know what to do! They are also giving a young French halfback his debut so he will be an unknown quantity for us to deal with.

Hopefully Pryce will make it through the match unscathed. If he does then he may well have a chance of lasting the season.

They'll have Millard, Baile and Vaccari at 3, 4 and 5 though. I think that is there first choice anyway. Missing Bosc, Dureau, Farrer and Sa who are their halfback options.

Remy Marginet will make his debut at scrum half I've been told.

For me there has to be a change in the strategy over loose forward. We just don't have the numbers in the props. Even with 4 props we don't have enough to start with 3. With just 3 in the team Royce has to show he is flexible in his approach and play a proper loose forward for the rest of the season. We have plenty of backrowers, but very few props, so we need to spell the props better and let someone like wilkin take on the loose forward role or Moore.

I can see why Royce likes to start with 3 props but without the numbers it seams fool hardy to just press on with plan A, to the detrement of our bench.

I totally agree. We can't afford to have three props on the pitch for the first half an hour and then one for 10 minutes either side of half time. We did this against Wigan at the DW and the wheels fell off when the rotations started. We've got three good experienced back rowers available (four if we include Moore); let's give them plenty of game time and use our front rowers sparingly.
