Wire fan here:

I think you have neither the team or the coach that can win trophies. Although you looked good against Wire last night. You just haven't looked that good all year.

Last year with a better team (one that wasn't just Cunnigham) you'd have beat Wigan in the grand final. The things that potter did with that shambles of a team (that beat Wire twice in the regular season and in the post season ) are amazing. I have seen nothing to suggest ?Rolls Royce can replicate that!

We'll leave that till later in the season shall we.

not all but a lot. Probably more than a lot of sts fans.

I also need not mention you are 4th in the table and unlikely to get any higher and likely to drop lower.

I am ready to be proved wrong and if you play like you did in that match last night in the play offs, there's not a lot stopping you.

However, the team hasn't been overly fantastic all season and I am personally getting tired of Royce blaming everyone but himself and the team for losses.

Like I say ...

Royce has twice taken responsibility himself for the team's performance and he has regularly summed up why things have gone wrong in the match. He never blames individual players, though, which is how it should be. He just summarises what the problems were. Fact is, we didn't get the 50/50 calls, we did have some bad luck (try repeating the crossbar challenge Jamie) and we did lose composure in the second half. He said that, so how was that 'blaming everyone but himself and the team'?

Can,t recall him blaming anybody, the only possible occasion was the recent Wigan game when he mentioned the team not keeping to the game plan.
Royce has loads of disruption in 16 out of 19 games this season, I,d like to hear other coaches comment when they have a team competing for a spell with no half backs and half a pack missing.

Thats completely and utterly wrong. He has taken the blame himself on a few occasions.

We can be bold enough to make a stand and do battle for our views and beliefs. But we must strive to be mature enough not to resort to unnecessary personal attacks upon people with opposing views.

Nice WUM.

To be honest depending on how the next 9 games go and our run in the playoffs, I would not be surprised to see royce get coach of the season.

Lets take Briers out of Wire for all but 5 mins of the season and then have Myler make a mess of moving clubs to union, etc etc.

I for one have not heard Royce blame anyone. Mostly he will say WE did not control the ball enough, to be fair though mostly he does not have to blame anyone for a loss as we tend to win more games than we lose. Sure we have lost 2 on the bounce, but you can hardly make that an average for the season.

Any way jog along, we where discussing the positives like no injuries for once.

What's the general vibe amongst Saints fans ref Royce?

Is it a case of 'transitional season' added with injuries/distractions so we'll give him this year as a bedding in year and accepting that it's not [as we speak] gone to plan so he can have next year to get it right then the knives are out or are there already rumblings of discontent etc now ?

I'm asking the normal fans here, Saddened etc who I think is sensible [ish].

EDIT : Sorry, should have added - Or are fans quite pleased with him and the job he's doing. (I am).

You'll get a mixed reaction to that question I should think given that we have just lost our second derby in as many weeks!

Me, I'm happy with him. I think he's doing a good job especially given the highly disrupted season and the lack of Keiron Cunningham (our leader on the field). I think the lads respond positively to him: last week he said they were more aggressive in training and had been practising defending against kicks, having identified publically our weaknesses from the Wigan match. Against Warrington our packmen were more aggressive and although two tries got through, there was obvious improvement in our handling of kicks. He strikes me as astute, fair and honest.

He's a good coach and the season is not over. We seam to think this is a regular league were the best team wins. It's not he has us in the right place dispite the disaster that was the 1st half of the season.

Lets see how we go from now to the end before we judge him.

Personally I 'm thinking final of CC, and semi of the playoffs will be a good result for our season. Once it gets to that point, well it's sport so far from predictable.
