I can imagine how thorough those are. Are there any documents around which detail the process? How far do they go? For example do they check the bank accounts and interests held by the players or is it just a case of tying up the payroll related outgoings on the club's bank statement to pay slips?
I dont see under what jurisdiction the RFL could demand to see players' bank accounts and statements, or the accounts of sponsors/directors businesses to see what payments are being made by who to anyone else.
If Simon Moran's music empire wants to pay Joel Monaghan for his labrador to be in a music video, then how can the RFL control, record or stop that in any way. I can just see Nigel Wood rocking up at some music empire HQ demanding to see their bank statements.
