We can be bold enough to make a stand and do battle for our views and beliefs. But we must strive to be mature enough not to resort to unnecessary personal attacks upon people with opposing views.
I think Moore just is a different style of hooker to Roby. More in the model of Micheal Monaghan (not comparing the 2 before the wire fans start.)
But he is still a class hooker, with a better kicking game than Roby. He is 2nd choice, but does not mean he is no good. We will just have to adjust our plays, but if Leon is due back, he does similar scoots from dummy half to roby.
So Leon could play the back on the bench role for a few matches, come on after 40 50 minutes and do his runs at tired defences.
Last season Moore was playing all over the shop due to injuries, think he played centre, stand off, scrum half, hooker and loose forward. He,s more consistent now in his performances and his tackle count is a lot higher, something saints will miss from Roby who is superb in defence. I would expect Moore to do 60 mins with the remaining mins by Eastmond and some short mins by Wilkin.
Roby is capable of playing the 80 but in terms of keeping the squad fit throughout the season it may have been an idea to give Moore some game time there.

Well yes, which is one reason why I am wondering what the reason is for not playing Moore there.
I thought you was all for playing players in their proper positions?
Scott Moore began his life as a halfback and then he moved to hooker. So what is his 'proper' position? It may well be second rower.
Jon wilkin is a backrow but your saying play him hooker,
No I'm not. I'm saying give him the organisational role that Roby has been taking. Moore is not experienced or, IMO, good enough to take on that degree of responsibility. Wilkin is. Needs must when the options aren't there. Just as I said that Wilkin will need to cover the halfback role when we have no options left. He did and, in spite of your (now silent) objections about him, did a fantastic job. Now that we have dedicated halfbacks fit again, Wilkin has moved out of the halfback role, as it should be.

I think if you asked Moore what postion he Plays then he'd play hooker. If you look at what postion he's played most in super league then I'd imagine it's hooker. I'd say that makes him pretty much a hooker.

My silent objections? I'll think you'll find I've started a thread about how well he played!
Listen flower, I'll call it how I see it, I think wilkin has been very poor by his standards over the last 3 years, mostly with ball in hand as he's turned into a tackle machine.
This year I've praised wilkin on many occasions and even started a thread saying how well he's played. He was my man of the match by a country mile against Leeds.

You can't read. Go back and look at my post again. I didn't say 'silent objections'. Then, if you want to, try and respond without being derogatory. Just for once.

Your trying to make a point of me not being Wilkins biggest fan. That's not true. I rate wilkin very very highly but think he's let himself down with ball in hand over the last 3yrs.
In fact I'm one of Wilkins biggest fans but I won't lie and say he's playing well when he's not.
I find your posts very strange. Your all for playing players in "proper" positions but then calling for wilkin to play hooker.
I also find it very strange that you don't think we are centre light yet play a winger there every week.

This is the last time I'm responding to this point because you are just being deliberately obtuse and I really cannot be ar*ed with it. I am all for players playing in their best positions, those they are best suited to. The individuals and the team need the stability of people playing in the same places, even you must realise that, and all players having the best possible chance of achieving to the optimum of their ability. However, as I have also stated quite clearly on here previously but you are choosing to ignore it, if there is no other option available then a player will need to move. There are some players who cannot move into certain spots - Kyle Eastmond would never make a prop, for instance. But others are versatile, like Wilkin. What I think is that Moore is not mature enough, not experienced enough and not (yet?) skilled enough to take on Roby's role. It's not about the position of hooker. As I have already said, it is the organisational side of Roby's role that I don't think Moore will be able to handle. I might be wrong, and Simmons might take a chance on it, but I think Wilkin is far, far better placed to take on the organisational responsibilities Roby has had this season. We need someone mature, experienced and capable covering his spot. IMO Moore is not that man.
