There are only so many positions you can create to keep former players in a job. In the end we need the best people doing the job they are good at. I wish him well, hope he can earn some money and it works out well for him. We have KC, on staff, I think Tommy God does some voluntary work. If we employed everyone who was a former great there would be no cash left for the team.
In the end we all need to earn a living and there are only so many jobs to go around. With the ground work done by Keiron Purtill in the youth set up and the benefits, that has brought, it would be foolish to just replace him with a former great player for no other reason than he was a former great who needs a job.
