He made an almighty mess up of one kick by Sheffield, leading to a try for them. He was very upset with himself, thumping the ground twice. He was moved to the wing and Jamie Foster took over fullback duties. Armstrong is a centre and it was tough on him to be called in to cover fullback, but that's the problem with having so many injuries. If Wello, Makinson and Ashe are not available against Hudds, I'd rather have Foster there. He is going to need help with defensive duties as he's still too slight really but other than that I think he will go well there. However, I am keeping everything crossed that Wello will be back, with Makinson on the bench. (Dream on me!)

he also screwed up a kick off from Sheffield, where he completely misjudged the flight of it and tried to catch it on the end of his toe. In the Cas game he also made 3or4 glaring errors.

Cant really see him being played anywhere other than wing for the time being, so I guess that Foster will be at fullback.

I just hope he can recover his confidence, like Foster after Salford last year, rather than crumble like Steve Tyrer after the Cas game a few years ago.

Me too. But at least Simmons didn't haul him off the field completely. That would have been humiliating. It was a tough ask for him given that he plays centre usually. Hopefully our injury problems will lessen and he can rejoin Leigh, where he appeared to be doing very well by all accounts.
I've always thought of McGuire as a good player, and I wouldn't normally wish injury on any player, but there was a certain hint of poetic justice to that.
Another classic:
You forgot to take off the "Saints Reduction Factor" when calculating the ban.

Standard suspension / Saints Reduction Factor = Actual ban for Saints player.

Therefore (2 / 3) = 0.666

0.666 < 1 therefore actual ban equals "less than 1 match".

Therefore ZERO.
Give the girl her dummy back.

I certainly wouldn't be rushing anyone back for this game.It Isn't even close to a must win game, the week after Is though.
Were In a decent position, with the way the end of season playoffs are structured there's no reason to risk anyone.

Armstrong won't make a fullback as long as he lives. It was a massive mistake picking there against hull and dropped lucky that ade got a cut and we brought ashe to fullback or the score might have been worse.

If wello and Ashe are out then it's got to be Jamie foster at fullback.

Armstrong is ok when the balls in hand but he's never going to make a fullback.

We can be bold enough to make a stand and do battle for our views and beliefs. But we must strive to be mature enough not to resort to unnecessary personal attacks upon people with opposing views.

Re: Looking to Huddersfield : Mon May 09, 2011 9:02 pm
Surely Foster to FB, Meli back for a guest appearance on the wing and armstrong to centre.

I don't see the issue.

If Wellens is back well Wilkin could do with a hand at halfback.
