SAINTS have announced their 19-man squad for Saturday's Challenge Cup Fourth Round tie with Sheffield Eagles.

Elsewhere, Joe Greenwood is called into the team alongside Under 20s teammate Scott Hale.

Sheffield Eagles' Mark Aston, will choose from:

The match kicks off at 3pm and the referee is Ben Thaler.
Rest Jammer and either Gardner or Armstrong depending on which one is most fooked from last week. Sia will provide impact from the bench and the young lads will get some good experience from the game
from what iv'e seen of him on the tele that taulapapa is a decent player pretty fast with a neat sidestep....they'll have to watch him.
I was really hoping he was still stuck down under. But he's back, is he? Damn! He could cause us problems. I remember watching him in the play offs last year. Sheffield suffered when he broke his ankle (or leg, whichever it was). He's not very old either. A genuine talent, I thought at the time.
says prop on the saints site, but thats hardly the font of all knowledge!
This discussion happened elsewhere on this board last week! He's been playing second row, it seems, but Saints must be utilising him as a prop. Given that TP is being rested, I would imagine Greenwood will take on his role, which is second rower/prop! If he does actually play then I hope he enjoys his debut. We're getting regular debuts this season. We should think of a song to welcome the new boy on the pitch!
I hope Flannery plays as I think this would be a good chance for him to get some match fitness back prior to Hudds. If we get some good rain before Saturday then the pitch shouldn't been too hard, hopefully resulting in no ankle injuries this time.
I wouldn't rest anyone else. TP hasn't looked fit for a couple of matches. We will need his size and skillset against Hudds. But he's the only one who should be rested if everyone else is capable of playing (I can't say 'fit' because I doubt everyone is fit!).
I thought Makinson's was a "dead leg" injury? Shouldn't he be back if that was the case?
Royce Simmons said after the Hull match that had Nathan Ashe not himself been injured, he would have played sooner. So I think Makinson must have been second choice stand in and as soon as Ashe could play, he got his chance.
