I was there, and he didn't. As I said on the Armstrong thread, he was playing centre with Leigh just a week or so ago. On the basis of a morning's training at best, he finds himself playing fullback with Saints today. For a guy of, what, 20? he did very well. He took his tries well, speedy kick returns, he defended as well as most of them and worked very hard. He panicked a bit but that's to be expected. So no, he didn't have a stinker. Far from it.

Fair enough, as I said, I would love to be proved wrong and from the comments I've heard he wasn't as bad as was portrayed on the radio. He was thrown in the deep end and it's always good to see a young player doing well in a situation like that.

Balls of steel that boy. Balls of steel. I couldn't even watch it, never mind kick it. I looked up as he kicked it, absolutely perfect flight and perfectly central. Unbelievable.

I know. He was amazing with that final kick. To rise to that kind of pressure at 20 years old, or indeed any age, it just great to see.

James Roby is this years Man of Steel. Award it to him now. It's futile extending the competition, it's all his. Sensational yet again. Honourable mentions to Armstrong, Gardner, Sia, Graham and Scott Moore.

Aside from one dumb pass, I thought Roby was his sensational self again. Where he gets the energy from I don't know. I'm exhausted just watching him! Gardner was excellent, like another prop, taking the ball up, making half breaks, getting his try. Soliola has been immense for the last few games and James Graham was as good as he was at Wigan, which is great to see.

Graham couldn't watch as Foster lined up that final kick, he turned away and looked at the away stand until he heard the crowd. I know this because I watched him rather than the kick myself lol

Granted as a Wigan fan I don't see Foster that much. But I'll ask the question. If you tuck Foster's superb goal kicking ability off him, is he any good? Personally I've never seen him bust a tackle or go on a jinking maisey run to evade defenders. It does appear to me that he's just a one trick pony. That may be a little harsh, but I've never seen the kid create something out of nothing.

Roby on the other hand. What can I say that hasn't already been said. Just a superb player.

Jamie Foster is developing into an outstanding goalkicking winger. I have been majorly impressed with him since he has come back into the side this year. And a big well done to the kid aswell coming back from the game at Salford last year and maintaining class form. Some other young players would have crumbled after that. Keep up the good work!

James Roby is the best hooker in the world on current form. He has been truly outstanding this season and if he stays injury free and keeps his form up he has to be nailed on for MOS at the end of the season.

He scored tries, fields kicks very well and is a great goalkicker. All in all I believe Foster is a fine asset to the Saints team. What more could you possibly want for a winger???

I'd say he was a steady player with a couple of excellent abilities. First and foremost his goal kicking is obviously invaluable. Secondly he is an excellent finisher and can squeeze into the tiniest of corners. He's also reliable in defence and good under the high ball.

He's not the type of Winger to round 7 men and go in from 70m, but he is very reliable in pretty much all aspects of his game.

A decent summary but I'd also add in a good workrate , he's not afraid to come infield looking for work
