I think any honest rugby league player will say that's what happens in rugby. He didn't mean to do it, he didn't attack his shoulder and IMO from how I saw it, he was committed.

Now if he'd gone out to injure him or it was clear cut he was late then fair enough but it's a 50/50 call in that type of tackle.

Im sure some saddo will have timed how long the ball had gone before he hit him.

Saintsfan is now sat at home with sky+ on and stop watch.

Sorry, but I think you are on your own with this (not that it matters). Hoffman was very late but not malicious IMO.
A player kicking is not able to defend himself, so only a charge down type challenge should be allowed; everything else is a pen.

I've just watched my sky+ recording
The Hoffman tackle was no later than the one on Richards in the last three minutes. A fantastic game today, played in great spirit with a ref who wasn't too picky who let the game flow. A draw would have been a fair result.

If you read my posts, you will see I've said I've not seen it on tv and only in real time. IMO from seeing it live, he looked committed.

The RFL will look at it and I'm sure they will punish him if he's guilty but I from what I seen at the game thought he looked committed.

Some idiot on here even called it assault!

And I don't care what Hoffman says. Hoffman would say that if he had arrived at Christmas. It's called his defence.

Anyway, the RFL will decide. I don't have a great deal of confidence in their judgement, bearing in mind they let a shoulder charge to the face go unpunished in Wire's match against Hudds. But we'll see.
