Chris Hill should have been playing SL 3 years ago, whether he could adjust to the top level of SL now though is another matter - I'd have taken a punt on him sooner with a view to bringing him in gradually but even now we could do a lot worse. I would say he's the most attainable of all the young British props out there for next season, apart from maybe Paul Johnson (assuming Wakey don't get a franchise) but despite his good performances this year he obviously wasn't rated highly enough in the first place.
I've resigned myself to Graham leaving, surely he would have signed by now? As a result we must keep TP - Perry, Puletua, LMS, Clough and another prop plus a youngster knocking on the door is a minimum requirement IMO. Pryce will be off too, anyone would miss a player of his calibre but I think Hohaia's signing speaks volumes and it's hard to justify giving him another big contract when the team is playing extremely well without him.
We don't have a single player in the back row contracted beyond 2012 and this is somewhere I would like to see us pick up a top line player in the next 12-18 months. I'd say Flannery is the best of our lot so far this season but is he worth the quota place? Hopefully Sia can get a good run of games together and really kick on, he looks to be the only one with a real physical presence on our edge and it's something we need more of. The young home-grown back-rowers, well none of them are really standing out whilst not being poor and we need more from them going forward - Wigan have a boat-load of young forwards who look much better than ours it has to be said. A big 12-18 months for all of them.
That leaves Gardner and Frodsham up in 2011 and I'd be very surprised if either are regular players in our team this time next year.
