Shenton didn't do much wrong. We were short down that side for the Leeds try. He had to make a heads-or-tails call on coming in for the ball-and-all tackle or staying put and it dropped against him. Hardly a big defensive blunder.

Given his foot-speed I'd like to see him get more of the ball.

Magennis hasn't had the game time he needs to show us whether he is able to play at first grade level yet due to his injury problems. As with all our young guns, the only way to find out whether they are good enough is to play them. There is no reason to write him off yet. If he gets more game time over the coming weeks we may see some real improvement in him.

I thought Jammer was back to his best last night to be honest. He was doing what he does best: driving forward. He and TP worked well.

Perry picked up an injury apparently. Rotator cuff according to Simmons. Does anyone know if that's likely to be a serious injury?

It's a shame Clough missed so much of the game - he was really going forward. He's looking like a top drawer prop forward to me these days.

It can be... "The severity of injury may range from a mild strain and inflammation of the muscle or tendon, that will lead to no permanent damage, to a partial or complete tear of the muscle that might require surgery for repair."

Personally, I think he has a lot of potential, especially considering the injuries that he's sustained in the past. His offload game is far better than any of out other second rowers. If he can stay injury free he could be a really good player once he adds size, I doubt he has been able to do much strength training with the knee surgeries he has had so I would give him a chance.

Well, let's see. He had two good attempts to lose us the game on Saturday with his PTB cock-up and then the offside incident, both in our half. Shortly after, Simmons hauled him off. We all have bad games though, so let's hope next time he plays a blinder and I'll happily eat my words.

He looked a bit wild in defence a couple of times, but his defence was one of the few plus points of the Quin's game, so I'm tempted to beleive he was in a no win situation.
He didn't see much of the ball, but at least we're starting to get it out to the centres now, with Meli benifitting on Sat. With another week on the training paddock for Lomax and Gaskell, perhaps the distribution to the right will match it next friday.

Do you think we were targetting Hardacre and that's why we kept going to that side? (Although tbf Shenton did score and also got a second opportunity but couldn't quite get there - so the halves were thinking to both sides just not in the same way I suppose!)
