Replacing James Roby : Fri Jul 10, 2015 10:46 pm
Looking at Robes tonight I really do think we have to think very seriously about his replacement - and soon. It's not that Roby underperformed. Far from it. But a player of his ilk who relies an awful lot on being one of the fittest on the pitch can only keep going to the well for so long. Look at O'Loughlin at Wigan. Another player who, in his prime, possessed endless reserves of stamina and yet so far this season he's been significantly shy of his best.Given Roby's age there's an increasing likelihood he'll begin to break down. Right now we'd be in serious trouble if we lost him. But it's next season which concerns me. Yes, we've got one or two of the youngsters coming through. But if Roby went down in game one of next season with a major injury - could we overcome it with the current players?
