What's the weather like this morning over in St Helens, hoping to travel over at lunchtime but here we have an inch of snow, zero temperature and freezing fog.

Its icey and a bit foggy, light dusting of snow/ hail thats frozen on the ground to make life more interesting

My car thick in ice so unless the pitch is covered I can't see it being on. The fog stopping any sun coming thru to melt any ice.

I don't think it'll be the pitch that'll be the problem, it's the surrounding areas, The paths and sideroads in Billinge are treacherous this morning. I think we may have similar problems at Leigh, they have a 3G pitch which should be o.k. It's just if the surrounding areas have been gritted. There's no sign of the mist/fog lifting.

Seems to be a slow thaw kicking in despite no sun to speeds things up, should imagine outside the ground will be slush with a bit of ice here and there, club will have put some salt down at the access areas. For those in the North and South stands seats will be cold though.
