We can be bold enough to make a stand and do battle for our views and beliefs. But we must strive to be mature enough not to resort to unnecessary personal attacks upon people with opposing views.

Sky set out their stall : Thu Oct 02, 2014 9:20 pm
Could not get to the game tonight, but it seems Sky have laid the cards on the table.

Everything to devalue us tonight and Eddie firing the first salvo for next week, saying it will be a negative Grand Final because of us.

It was just anything tonight to play down anything we did, when Catalan score of a forward, it's fine, when we do, it's a tragedy.

But at least they showed the colours early.

The propaganda campaign underway and Wire and Wigan did not even have to ask for it.

The incompetence of the ref was matched only by the ludicrous unprofessional bias that permeated the entire broadcast tonight.

I thought Stevo launching in to get Sia banned for the Grand Final was one of the clearest shows of bias I've seen for some time.

Even the awfulness that is cummings had to be the bearer of temperance on him at that point.

Tbf they are always rooting for the underdog. It's generally what they do to try and force some excitement in a dull game.

We just won the game tonight. Nothing fancy.

Silverwood was superb for us tonight. We need him for the final. Eamon has to make that his main task for the week.

It was a farce of a semi final to be honest. The ref made several unbelievable errors and we benefitted from most. We were always going to win tonight barring a really poor showing as Catalans were out on their feet.

But Stevo is right, we HAVE to be negative in the final. We HAVE to defend well and we HAVE to grind it out. And that's just to stay within 30. If we go to the Grand Final and try to outplay either Wire or Wigan (Probably Wire, I think they'll destroy Wigan tomorrow) we would lose by 30+ and could easily really embarass ourselves.

I hope Brown has the negative tactics drilled into them. Hold down, niggle, defend like their lives depend on it, kick well and chase like demons from hell. It's our only chance.

Re: Sky set out their stall : Thu Oct 02, 2014 9:50 pm
There were times where I was as annoyed with some of the stupid stuff we did. But for example they said that Catalan were denied a first try, forgetting that the ref had blown his whistle long before the ball left the Catalans player and so all the Saints players stopped chasing and following the ball.

Whether a right or wrong call, it is wrong to assume that the Catalan fullback would have been so easy to get to the ball and score.

Then when they score of a forward, they say it even's it up.

People buy into this because there was no one on the team countering the point about the first attempt.

If you push enough lines out with no one to argue a counter point, then it's simply one way traffic.

The new young dynasty of super saints is coming to a ground near you.
Welsby-Dodd-Simms-Eaves-Rizzelli, not Eastmond...the future is coming.

Can you do us all a favour and support some other team next season.

Saints were crap and whilst the game was still in the balance crucial incorrect calls gave saints the gamebreaking points. I don't think they were bias so stop beefing. Poor hard done by saints.

Who is beefing.

Did they not say Sia should not be playing next week.
Did they not say they hoped it would not be a negative game next week, oh but because of either Wigan or Wire it will not be.

Basically they did not want us there, it was pretty clear. Same way Murdock always wants to be backing a winner. It's common for news international to wait and see who will be the likey winners and then back them as though they had called it all along.

But feel free to keep buying their mantra

Why do you think they thought it might be a negative game next week because of saints?

When saints line up next week they will be the poorest team to line up at a grand final so far. The decline in quality is alarming and depressing. That might come off as a dig at saints but there's other teams that come out worse, if saints are bad and in the rgand final, what does that make leeds? We finished 6th and didn't even get past a poor catalans team. This entire playoff series has been shocking.
