He tweeted a while ago (the 3rd) he hoped to be back playing in 6 weeks - so he could be back a little earlier than expected?

Manu will add more steel than I think we give him credit for and with Walmsley's go forward and Lomax's creativity, we should be in much better stead.

Manu is the best secondrow at the club. I now Sia does the big hits that get noticed but Manu is the better IMO (I'm big Sia fan).

I think at the start of the year I'd of been happy for Manu to see out his contract and move on. With how the market is moving at the moment, I think it's becoming more and more important we get another year out of Manu. Especially now Sia is leaving.

I was very critical of him before he was injured and thought he was out of form, you don't know what you got til it's gone!

Jones and Percival are back in contention too as they are fit to play.

No mention of Swift (apparently Saints don't know when he will be fit, according to Mike Critchley on Twitter) and it looks like Wilkin could be a long term injury. Says in the Star that they are looking at rehabbing him (dislocated shoulder) but if he needs surgery, which he might still do, then he is gone for the season. If rehab is enough then he will be absent for around four weeks.

Laffranchi tweeted a few days back that he has returned to training but still a couple of weeks away from playing.

We really missed Manu when he first got hurt. He's very solid and a threat with the ball which is something our forwards have been lacking.

Couldn't agree more. I'd rather we kept Manu than signed Vea (and I was one of the few who spoke in favour of the signing!) - we have a ready made replacement in Savelio I reckon, so hopefully another year or 2 for Manu then were set.

If Wilkin is gone for the season, I wonder if charnock will get a run? He seems to be getting groomed for the ball playing back rower position, and seems in great form...

As I posted in the rumour thread, you'll be happy to know Vea was at saints Cowley training complex today and had a medical. It's done.
