Another hat trick tonight playing prop vs Bradford u19. He destroyed them.

He wont be playing vs Bradford firsts. The lad deserves a chance, its a disgrace.

I'm so impressed with this lad. I don't understand why he's not in the 1st 17 every week.

Calling it a disgrace is a bit strong. But his exclusion is a bit puzzling as he's looked well capable of dealing with SL.
If he played tonight, there's no reason he can't play first time on Sunday though

Get him in the first team FFS. Write this season off, we won't win anything. Use it to blood the likes of Savelio and anyone else who is half decent. The likes of Turner, Laffranchi, Wellens etc shouldn't be playing.

Look, I am as excited as anyone else about how good Andre Savelio looks as a prospect.

That doesn't mean he should, or is, ready to play every week in the first team yet. He has been given clear, and obvious things to work on (his fitness) and as he progresses I'm sure well see more of him.

Let the kid establish himself at his own pace. We have a good record of bringing people through in the recent past, and I'm sure we can do a good job with Savelio too.

If it was Cas or Leeds or Wigan this week fair enough, but against London or Bradford playing against men would be better than boys.

So far he played against Leeds at home which was actually a massive game in terms of his fitness abilities (and frankly that he played in that game makes a mockery of any argument that it is his fitness which is precluding him from playing in the first team) and Widnes. That's hardly every week!

The only way he will get fit, and I don't think fitness is the reason for him not playing btw but to take that point further, is to play him in the first team. He won't get fit playing lads smaller than him, except perhaps aerobically because he will be running over people all the time rather than trying to push walls over.

Meanwhile, our forwards will continue to struggle to gain advantage and Walmsley will be knackered trying to do it all himself.

For me, it's all about how people see Savelios career going - yes he's played prop in the first team and done really well. If, long term he is going to be a prop then I see no reason why he shouldn't be playing these sorts of games. I think he'd go on and be a great prop.

I still harbour hopes though he has the potential to go on to be a world class back row, playing wider, and be devastating. He hasn't been deemed to have the fitness for that yet, but I'm sure he will in time. He's been playing 80 minutes in the 19s for precisely that reason, and I think the fact he's being played in the back row for the 19s still is an indication that's the long term aim.
