Season tickets under the new system : Sun Jan 19, 2014 7:28 pm
This issue keeps coming up, but i dont see it as very hard to work at all.

Option 1) as now a season ticket covers the regular season, so it will be 11 home games. Then you either pay for each extra of the 3 or 4 home games individually or the clubs can offer a combo deal for all 3 or 4.

Option 2) You can buy a season ticket that covers the regular season and up to 4 home games at the end of the normal league season. If we get in the top 4 youll save even more, and the club gets your money earlier, but if we come 5-8 you only get 3 home games and if we come 9-12 you get 3 home games at lower opposition, but thats the risk you take

Personally i think the clubs will offer both, but most people will take option 1. Option 2 will be like a super gold membership type deal.

Either way, i dont see how its that complicated to manage

What about those people who signed up for 5 year deals from 2011-2015.

they (like me) get it for the regular season. Saints could offer the games after the regular season as inclusive for 5yr ticket holders, but i'd be surprised if they do, they certainly wouldnt have to. The T's and C's of the 5yr deal will say its for the regular season, not a set amount of games

I'm in the same boat.

Surely such a drastic change to what counts as the "regular season" would mean a change to how those terms and conditions are interpreted?

SAINTS THE ORIGINAL AND PERENNIAL CHEATS

For sale full Saints kit (circa 1989). Shirts in pristine condition, but shorts badly soiled.

For 27 - 0 you get a trophy
For 75 - 0 you get sod all.

Wigan had eight in a row
Saints have five in a row

Re: Seson tickets under the new system : Sun Jan 19, 2014 8:33 pm
I would have thought that Saints would have to give you at least the equivalent number of games as when the tickets were purchased i.e 13 per season.
You would hope that for your loyalty they would give you 14 or 15 games.

To appease people, and to get them to buy season tickets in the future it would be wise to give them the extra games for free, so 14 or 15 home games. I'd hope they'd do that, but I'd doubt they would have to

We can be bold enough to make a stand and do battle for our views and beliefs. But we must strive to be mature enough not to resort to unnecessary personal attacks upon people with opposing views.

Re: Season tickets under the new system : Sun Jan 19, 2014 11:09 pm
I can see why they may have 2 systems. But in reality I think they will offer just one.

Which is the standard season ticket.

You already get a number of 'free' games in the current season ticket. The new one will just have a variable amount of free games, dependent upon how well the club does.

I really don't think that it's that complicated.

However, I do think a trick has been missed. If the CC cup was returned to it's traditional part of the year, you could compress that competition for free to air TV. Giving Audiences more of a hook in, than the current stretched out version.

Then the Magic weekend, rather than being put in the first set of rounds, could be played on the August bank holiday during the final set of rounds. This way every club can offer a season ticket of 14 home games.

The extra game played at the Magic weekend.

But then that would just be me?

That makes far too much sense, don't be stupid.

I agree that they will, but I do think that the club should be offering different packages for STs generally.

I think they have started to look at more variable tickets.

I think last year there was 5 games for some combination price, mid-way through the season.

It's tricky as you want to hook in more fans, but the season ticket still needs to be the best value.

If they started doing a season ticket for part1, then pay as you go for part2.
Alongside a full season ticket, you could see the club losing out.

Also they did do a 5 year season ticket. Again it shows they are making efforts to reach as many as possible.

I still reckon you could tie the Wigan game to another ticket purchase, say London this year and if you buy a London ticket, then you get to buy a ticket for the Wigan game ahead of the rest of the general public (season tickets obviously covers this).

It's simple and allows you to increase demand for a low demand game, whilst not changing any prices, for your key game.

People would do it and if people complained that they could not get in for the Wigan game, all the better, next year they would be encoraged to fall into line.
