as far as i know RL was the first to have the video ref, radio contact with the ref, yellow & red cards the spider cam at Old Trafford & refs head cam.There is one piece of technology that i have not seen in Super league that is the digital subs board thats shown by the 4th offical.Tho in the back of my mind i seem to remember seeing it at Saints once for a game but have not seen it at all since.Also would the talking video ref go down well with us fans.I found it quite enlightening.It would stop the comical duo from for ever arguing but would it .They do not seem to argue with Stuart Cummings's take on things.Okay the talking video ref was on a [cough cough] kick & clap game but there was one on one of our international games.What does anyone think of the talking video ref?.Mind not all of us will agree with him either.I think it would be a good idea.There is no need to show him on screen like they was doing.

The talking video ref is good for TV and at least there is an explanation as to why a try is given or not.
As for technology, I was sat next to Ian Milward at the end of last season at Warrington. He mentioned that the RFL are looking at something to detect forward passes to take the pressure of the referees.

Talking ref has been on RL on the beeb. I think it was on during the CC too.

I like it, but if it stops needless pontification, then SKY won't roll with it.

Most of our referees are puddings at time, but the cam on them makes them look idiots! I think I may have seen one shot since it was started, the same when they use the camera at big grounds on a wire above the pitch, they use far too many shorts from behind play and being so high it gives little perspective of the real area in front of play! Why typical Rugby League fan, are we not allowed different opinions?

Sorry - I think you caught me at a grumpy moment. I guess it winds me up that RL fans tend to dismiss new ideas out of hand (usually describing them as 'a joke') without giving a reason. Personally I think ref cam is okay. It does look a bit daft on the ref's head, but I don't see why that should worry anyone other than the ref. I've watched quite a few games where the ref cam has given a revealing view of an incident, and I think it offers a unique insight into discussions between the ref and players.

I can take or leave the ref can, it doesn't bother me in the slightest if they keep of get shut.

I agree with the poster, they do look total idiots with the headband on but I like refs to look stupid

I also like it when the ref talks to players and we can see the players reactions and what they say. I thought the lee briers and Tomkins clip of them both talking to the ref was pretty funny ad added to the entertainment.
