Mugwump mocking mental illness for a second time -

"You are mentally ill and I can't indulge your madness any more"

Utter disgusting abusive remark from a keyboard warrior

Nathan Brown post match interview : Sat Mar 09, 2013 8:03 am
I thoughts Browns interview was top class last night. Its about time a saints coach came out and was honest about the squad. He said this isn't the saints team of old that plays expansive rugby, tgis isn't the team with scully, KC, longy etc and we need to find our own identity as a team.

It will take time and he also admitted that we a chasing the likes of Leeds, Wigan and Warrington but we are getting there.

I thought it was a very good honest interview and totally agree with all he said.

He also admitted that lomax will now stay at fullback with wello moving into the pack. About time we had a coach with the balls to drop a big name like wello.

The general opinion of this board is that we have no half backs, no kicking game, no pace, no goal kicker, no centres or wingers, poor props, ageing players with no recruitment policy, no kids coming through.. Given all that, you'd have to say that brown is doing an ok job to get the team to perform like they did last night. Imagine what he could do if he had half backs. I think the Brown revolution is starting to take shape, his decisions may not please everyone, like leaving out Percival last night. But that's why he is a super league coach and we are keyboard warriors. Lets start getting behind him and the team.

I've backed him since the day we announced him as coach. He's a very good young coach but we need to bring in a few players now to see what he can really do.

We've just beat Warrington with a backrow and fullback in the halves!

The new young dynasty of super saints is coming to a ground near you.
Welsby-Dodd-Simms-Eaves-Rizzelli, not Eastmond...the future is coming.

Re: Nathan Brown post match interview : Sat Mar 09, 2013 9:05 am
I don,t think one good win has suddenly made us into a good team for the rest of the season, Brown seems to have a very cautious approach with his experimentation, I,m sure he really wants a speedier improvement but I think this has been set back with the players attitude and confidence.
3 games in there was only one player who was playing like the "saints of old" that was Sia Soliola. 5 to 6 games in we have the successful transition of Wilkin and Lomax.
We still have a problem at 6, if Gaskell can't establish the position then I can see Brown doing a bit more experimentation and playing Turner there when Percival gets a game in the centres. Lance maybe will have increased utility value.
The pack is a Jeckyll and Hyde one they need more consistent positve attitude and commitment in every game.
Brown perhaps has,t got the team playing the "saints style" yet but he does seem more astute than Potter, Simmons and Rush on the vision for improvement.

I don't think we are going to see the "saints style" again. He made it clear last night that this isn't the same type of team as previous years with the likes of longy, Lyon, scully and KC.

As he said, this team needs to find its own identity and play to our strengths to win games and not try to be the saints of old with flash off the cuff rugby.

I'm glad brown said what he did last night, its exactly what the fans needed to hear.

I take your point and I do agree up to a point. Fans (including me) blow hot and cold from week to week depending on their sides most recent efforts, but if we did not point out perceived faults and inadequacies in our supported teams, and just said everything is likely to be fine given time, let’s all just get behind them, and implying people are just fair-weather fans if they voice any criticism. That would negate the whole point of these boards for a start, and a large part of being an SL supporter anyway. You knocking the knockers still makes you a knocker youself.

It wasn't really meant as a fan knocking post, although some are so negative that they make saddened look like a glass half full kinda guy.given the obvious limitations if the squad, the best we can ask for is a coach who organises and motivates the squad, brown appears to be doing this. There will be casualties, Gaskell is probably the first, I'm sure there will be more. But as a lifelong saints fan, I live for nights like last night, whilst also living with nights like the opening night farce against Hudds. That's what neigh a saints speccie is all about to me, because generally we have more ups than downs.

Brown really needs until the end of next season before people judge him. With the players off contract at the end of the season, and the wages that will bring, we will hopefully see him start to build his own squad.

IMO he needs his full three years before we judge him.

A top coach will get the best out of what he has available. Wigan saw that when McGuire took over a bunch of journeymen plodders and won the GF with them. Brown us starting to show what he can do with this squad.
