Its a battle of short term and long term expectations isn't it. For me we are are in re build transition so Stadium come first, it was well documented 2 years ago that McManus future club model was to invest in youth policy alongside the new stadium, unfortunatly this hasn.t worked out on the players side and thats why we are in another year of transition.
If you look at Superleague in general the quality of players is suffering and the availabilty of players abroad and british has stagnated. So could we really purchase a squad equal to the 2006 one anyway at the expense of a new stadium.
For people on here who have supported the club over a long period of time and have experienced the many highs and lows, they will tell you that success will return.
Wigan tried it the alternative way and are now asset stripped and cannot guarantee a 100% superleague fixture schedule, for Wigan they have a giant rusty old rugby ball shoved to one side of a tesco car park, for us we have a shiny new stadium that will develop revenue streams and player development in more ways than one.
So trophy wise it might be just round the corner, but one thing will be guaranteed.................we will be back, history shows that.
