Cheers.

Soliola and Laffranchi look as good on paper as they did at the game, huge numbers against a top side.

I know Huddersfield rolled over, but Willie Manu! A couple of them might be getting on a bit, but that back row is going to be hard to stop going forward next year.

For anyone that doesn't think Manu will be a good signing, just take a look at his stats again. Strong both offensively and defensively exactly what we need. Nobody will fancy playing against our pack next year when they hit form.

Roby Laffranchi and sia was our best forwards and the stats back that up. Jon wilkin was his usual tackling machine.

Josh perrys stats show just how poor he was.

I'm pretty shocked at the stats of flanaghan, he go through a good amount of tackles but was poor in attack.

I would say offensively strong, defensively hard working but does miss tackles every now and again.
For a forward to make 4 tackle busts and 4 clean breaks in a game is very impressive, even taking into account the poor showing from the opposition

Jordan Turners offensive stats were also excellent. Making 167 metres from 19 carries including 1 tackle bust, 2 clean breaks, along with 2 try assists.

Also note worthy that Jamie Foster made 116 metres from 11 carries including 2 tackle busts and 2 clean breaks. This from a player many saints fans say cant make metres forward and hasnt the strength to break tackles
Interesting to note that Superstar wing Tom Briscoe made 82 metres from the same number of carries. He had 3 tackle busts and 1 clean break.

For me though the best players stats were Earl Crabtrees
A mammoth 42 tackles for a prop and also 132 metres going forward in 16 carries. He also made 7 tackle busts and 2 clean breaks. This remember in a well beaten side.

You missed Clough of the 5 star stats as well second top metre maker with 139 from 20 carries, only Lafranchi made more metres.

Flanagan is a tackle bag when it comes to making yards. He does work hard defensively though. Pretty much the new Tim Jonkers. Though i think Tim offered more going forward than ive seen so far from Flanagan.

Clough is really solid for us. Great news that we resigned him, imo.

I think Flanaghan has a bit more in the skills department than your everyday backrow, you see glimpses of it every so often, but he doesn't have the weight to grind for yards. Big defender though. I know he might not get the minutes, but if he concetrated on upping his tackle count, he may be able to look at overtaking Wilkin in the pecking order? There's going to be extra back row competetion next year from Manu (directly) and Walmsley (indirectly).

An argument in the Gaskell/Lance debate that has come up a couple of times lately is that Lance must get the nod for his superior defence. Given how anonymous he looked last weekend, combined with the way we've marginalised Wilkin in attack by giving him kicking responsibility, I wonder whether we'd be better off starting him at #6, essentially replacing an invisible Hohaia with an extra forward in the pack.

Laffranchi was outstanding and I don't think even those stats do him justice as he seemed (to me anyway) to be involved in a lot more tackles than that. A terrific performance overall though. Wheeler deserves a mention too, he was very solid defensively against Warrington's left side attack that has scored 52 SL tries this season. Great impact from the bench too, Soliola in particular.

Anyone else looking forward to having Manu on our left edge next year? We hit the lead runner a lot down that side and this guy will be devastating if he gets similar service next year.

I had the game on last night as I cooked tea. I was only watching it with one eye, but Eorl seemed to be taking on Hull by himself.
Would like to see both him and Andy Lynch in the Red Vee.
