He's as much of a grub as his hero Terry Newton. He needs to be put down.
Absolutely needless and mindless attack to the head. So, so late and completely unnecessary. I hope they throw the book at him. His Captain Frodo should also have been sent off for his shot on Makinson. He went to try and smash him, to stamp their authority on the game and he didn't miss. Quite how they can send off TP and the player from Hull and then leave him on is bizarre.
Child's had absolutely no control of that game and it's probably lucky we didn't have carnage tonight. When under pressure Wigan's discipline becomes horrendous. Tomkins was in a particularly grubby and niggly mood tonight, I don't think he knows how to play a ball without first walking past the markers or pushing them.
Wigan's new tactic of deliberately passing the ball into the grounded tackler needs to be looked at as well. If they do it deliberately, as they did twice late on, it should be play on not a penalty.

For me, this indiscipline is what could cost Wigan in the play-offs. Wire have become much better at controlling their aggression, defending fiercely but not losing the plot whenever things get a bit tough. I thought exactly the same about McIlorum, totally reminiscent of some of Newton's old dirty tactics (I remember an incident when he took out Sean Long a few years ago) and for me he doesn't have even half the talent to make up for it.
I really wish we were playing them again next week. Quality side as they are, if we get in their faces and make it tough, they turn into a rabble.
Mcillorum is an absolute t*** and cost us any chance we had in the game tonight , he will probably get a 2-3 match ban, deservedly so ..but at the end of the day what did our loss mean tonight....nothing...granted your win gets you 3rd and a trip to wire where i hope you win but tonights result meant nothing in the grand scheme of things for us...all it did was allow us to play fielden/dudson and rest Smith. But yes Mcillorum is a thug , well he was tonight anyway
