Laffranchi
Puletua
Soliola
Wilkin

Gaskell
Flannery/Dixon

McCarthy-Scarsbrook

Im not convinced Chris Flannery is doing enough to stay in the side at the moment. Andrew Dixon is more of a attacking threat in the Second Row and is more than capable in defence.

I think Flannery has looked good the last few games, he's hitting good lines and making breaks.

Success is not final; failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. (Winston Churchill)

Re: Whats your team for Monday vs Warrington? : Tue Jul 31, 2012 9:13 pm
Is it just me or do Saints play really dull rugby? I watched the match from Sunday back tonight. I was bored at the game - not the first time by far this season - and so I thought if I watched it from a side on view maybe that would make it more interesting. But I found us as boring from the side as I did from the front. We are so predictable and so lacking in any form of inventiveness. I saw more inventiveness in the Wakey side on Monday night.

I even find the team selection boring. It's the same every week. Completely predictable.

I think we have been playing some decent rugby lately but surely if we win it doesn't really matter?

I agree...lets do something a bit interesting for this week, change a winning side thats in form to spice things up and stop you being bored by it.

Perry showed great handling skills on Sunday so shift him into 7, could see LMS playing at centre, Lance to back row and Meli is bigger than Roby so could be effective as a 9.

Roby, Laffranchi, LMS, Wilkin, Wellens, Soliola, Perry, Shenton, Meli, Jones, Hohaia, Lomax, Makinson - would you be happier with that selection?

We can be bold enough to make a stand and do battle for our views and beliefs. But we must strive to be mature enough not to resort to unnecessary personal attacks upon people with opposing views.

I thought we played some very entertaining attacking Rugby in the opening 20 minutes. We lost some go forward, when the 2 big guys went off and Huddersfield got a bit of confidence back. Personally I think the crowd are actually a bit boring. We scored lots of points and there was very little get up and go from the crowd.

I think it's partially down to the new surroundings and to be honest I was expecting it. If anyone remembers back to Central Park and the drop off in atmosphere when Wigan moved to the pie dome. It took them the best part of 10 years to get a good atmosphere back. People are not next to those who they have been with for decades and so people are more subdue it's a natural response. When the Saints came out I was in the south stand stood up doing my usual standing ovation, but felt I was getting in the way of the sandwich brigade who barely clapped the team out.

Also the lack of an away support or reasonable competitive team leads to a drop in atmosphere too.
Recalling the Hull game which we lost, that was exciting and the crowd were more up but that was due to us not playing well and the game being close and a reasonable number of away fans.

If that game had been at KR, eveyone close to the pitch with 12k on and a cracking scoreline the place would have been more jumping, but even so, with the game over after 20 mins and no away support to speak of, it still would have been a quieter 2nd half.

To be fair I went to a good few Saints-Hudds games at KR down through the years and can't remember too many occasions when the roof was exactly in danger of being blown off by the excitement... At the risk of sounding like a cracked record I think a big part of the lack of atmosphere is the general hollowness of league results these days. What's there to get excited about in a game against non-rivals with no away fans on a very poor run of form and where the scoreline isn't going to impact your overall season one way or the other at the end of the day anyway?

This finally confirms it. You are nothing but a troll who simply writes absolute garbage in order to get a reaction. Go and find something better to do you silly little woman.
