I know this is really really old news but that aside what does going back to Cas say about Shenton's ambitions? he's 25 and he's just signed back for a club with little chance of winning anything in the next few years on a long term contract. I assume he's going to be well paid but it just smacks of wanting to go back to being a big fish in a little pond
It depends on the circumstances. It may well be that Saints have said, "We don't want you, you're leaving". Shenton has then gone to the market and found only Cas willing to meet his wage demands. It's a club he knows in a location he's happy with. What is his alternative? Refusing to leave and creating a very awkward situation with Saints and then being released in 12 months time and finding no club willing to pay him what he wants to be paid.
Maybe it was Shenton who engineered the move, maybe he didn't like the travelling and being the only one on the 'Yorkshire bus'. That kind of 1.5 hour commute could easily make it hard to adapt at a club, given the other players will all be doing stuff together after training and you live almost 2 hours away.
