He is quicker off the mark and possibly more elusive than Makinson. In the games I've seen him he's seemed far more willing to hunt for the ball, too. Seems like he has good hands, although they haven't been tested under pressure the way Tommy's have. In terms of defence I'd say Makinson is a fair way ahead. But then he does have a lot more experience.
At the very least he should prove to be a lively attacking fullback if he gets to play there.
