It should be the opportunity, but you also wonder if the current team needs still to play together as much as possible.

I would not make too many changes from the Widnes match.

I would be looking at something like this

Wello
Swift
Wheeler
Jones
Foster
Hohoiaa
Gaskell
Lafranchi
Roby
Forster
Flannery
Dixon
Mcgennis

subs: Clough, Greenwood, Flanagan, Makinson

That way we have a mixture of experience and youth that should see us through.
If Wheeler still isnt fit i would go with Shenton.

I'd be tempted to give few of the older or harder working players a rest. I do t mean rest them all but I'd give some a break.

Players I'd consider for a rest are - wello, Laffranchi, roby, sia, meli.

Maybe even put few big guns on the bench and give them little run out but I'd keep certainly keep lance and lomax in the halves together.

There will be more players, coaching staff and referee/referee assistans than fans for this game. Wake me up when were at Wembley please.

The main thing is I'd give Lomaskell a run with Hohaia on the bench.
I'd take all the same heavy units that played Widnes - Laff, LMS, Soliola, Clough in order to secure the wrestle. I'd give Forster another go.
I'd also like to see Makinson get a run either at fullback or centre.

We don't want to put too many young guys in this game as the u20s plus a smattering of first teamers (including Perry, Gardner and someone else, I can't remember who) lost to Oldham in the pre-season friendly. They may be third division but they're fully grown blokes who will I'm sure be playing at the top of their game so surely we don't want to be taking them too lightly. However, I wouldn't go with the attitude Wigan adopted against North Wales Crusaders, which was unnecessary IMO.

I think it was Ade that played with perry in that game. I was classed as a u20s saints team.

I know Ade played, along with Perry, but there was a third first team player as well and I can't remember who it was. But yes, it was an under 20s team predominantly.
