so the hit the £500,000 JUST how on earth are they going to hit the next £500,000 in 3 weeks?

they have bleed the fans dry, sold off everything former players would give, sold 600 tickets for the widnes games which the vikings gave and had the Bradford Leeds gate on that aswell

and still only just got a reported £506,000

i dont know what else they can / will do.......good luck, i think they need it

Time to start trying to sell their most valuable assets probably - the players.

They are apparently going into 'confidential talks' about the other five hundred grand.

Something is decidedly fishy about the Bradford board and it wouldn't surprise me at all to discover at some point in the future that they had taken all those fans and others for a ride.

I got that impression when I heard good talking about the the plea when it first came about, I just didn't like the guy or trust him at all.

The fact he won't step down and let caisley take over shows he's not got the club at heart.

With out a big money gus or consortium coming in to offer the rest. I can't see the 1 million being realised. Given that they now have 3 weeks, they could try to offload players. But they may only get a further 100k - 200k as you never get full value in a firesale. Ironically the closer they get to the target, the more they can hope to sell players for.

At the moment the current board seam to want to have their cake and eat it. They want to keep the full team, they want to keep their positions, they want others to provide funding with nothing given in return.

These pledges aren't actual money either are they? Aren't they just statements of 'I'll give you this money if we reach the total'? Or have they collected it all now?

I certainly wouldn't like to be a fan who has given a lot of money to the club. I can understand how £1m could pay off some debts, but in terms of helping the club long term, a figure like that is small fry and wouldn't last long.

They wont even get all of the £506000 in. If they manage to collect 90% of those pledges in the next 3/4 weeks i'll be surprised. At least 10% of people wont pay up IMO

The big question here is - how will Bradford use this money?

If they pay off their debts and then look to set up systems and infrastructure to minimise the chances of a similar catastrophe occurring in the future - fine.

But if they squander the cash on looking after the interests of a few "big fish" investors the damage will go far beyond one club folding.

Teams that run into similar money troubles from therein will find it far more difficult to succeed with the same strategy of raising funds as fans will immediately think of Bradford and hesitate. Which is sad as such clubs may indeed wish to use the money wisely.

So far the resolution seems to be purely play for time with sticking plaster! and hope for the Euro Lottery to come up!

Serious questions need to answered why Station Road was never saved? which had such potential as a stadium for RL but Odsal was and the money paid by the RFL to Bradford for the Odsal lease disappeared in minutes!
