Well if it's in the Daily Star it must be true.
Look any coach worth his salt will be linked with Saints this year as Royce is only on a two year contract, so Saints are an easy club to link with. However it's probably just his agent pushing as he may not be finding at easy as he thought it was to get a job down under, so he wants his name linked with other clubs who maybe pushing for a potential new club.
I have no doubt that Saints will be looking at possible replacements for Royce. I also think Royce is under no illusion that Saints will be doing this too. But I think one trophy will keep Royce in his job, you can easily put interests out there for a job that is not available. Saints can see who is on offer and if no one is any good then they will stick with Royce, if Royce wins something they will stick with him, if not then they have a shortlist ready.
Personally I would not want brown on the terms he has had at Huddersfield. One year deals are very poor and cause disruption as everyone has seen at huddersfield for the last 2 or 3 years.
Also I'm not sure he is they guy to take us further than challenging as we already are, would be another Potter like signing for me, a guy who can drill a team but does not have the x factor to get a trophy. What has he won in his time? Did he take huddersfield further than say smith?
Would rather see how our 2nd in command goes or maybe look to Oz again if there are no other decent coaches available.
