As you can see, I'm French, and I want to come for the Saints v Catalan game in your new Langtree Park, I already came over last year in Widnes, in case some people here remind me, with the Bosc shirt.
I think I will take the Girona Birmingham flight (flights to Manchester aren't cheap, as I'm young, moneyless and hopeful), I'll be in Birmingham near 11.00 or 12.00 am the game day, what's the cheapiest way to reach St-Helens and Langtree Park?
I calculate, around £35 to come with 3 things, one flight and two trains, Birmingham -> Liverpool and Liverpool -> St Helens, but maybe you have better?
Hope my request is not foolish ! And sorry for the language mistakes
[quote='Fishsta"']I've always thought of McGuire as a good player, and I wouldn't normally wish injury on any player, but there was a certain hint of poetic justice to that.

Another classic:
[quote='Fishsta']You forgot to take off the "Saints Reduction Factor" when calculating the ban.
Standard suspension / Saints Reduction Factor = Actual ban for Saints player.
Therefore (2 / 3) = 0.666
0.666 < 1 therefore actual ban equals "less than 1 match".

I would imagine the train will be more expensive than £35 but you would need to check that. Certain trains from Birmingham will stop at Wigan, which is nearer to St Helens than Liverpool. There are trains every 20 minutes or so from Wigan to St Helens and the journey takes about 20 minutes whereas from Liverpool the journey is about 30 minutes and the trains are every 30 minutes.
according to national rail, the 12-01 train is from Birmingham new street this is the main north/south station in Birmingham to be on that train you would have to be on the train at birmingham int.at 11.38,if you land at 11.20,you are not going to make it.Trains leave new street for liverpool every hour at 01 past the hour, the lowest price tickets are £18.00 from b/ham int to st helens central (single) but you MUST travel on specific trains to get this fare,i would surgest a more realistic itinery would be-
12.38 Birmingham International arrive b/ham new st 12.48
13.01 dep b/ham new st arrive liverpool lime st 14.43
14.57 dep l/pool lime st arrive st.helens central 15.15.
(or get 13 38 train at b/ham int and add 1 hour to all other times) REMEMBER to get the cheap fare you quote you must get the xx.38 train from the airport. you dont mention your return flight times,i hope they are the next day as without checking i think you will be lucky tomake the return journey same day after game.

good luck an i hope this helps
Merci beaucoup !!! It helps, really. I just need to make this £60 for the travel and I'm coming. For the flight back, I stay in the house of a Saints fan friend in Manchester and I flight back the sunday afternoon from Manchester. Happy to be logically (if nothing happens) one of the first Catalan ever to put his foot in your new ground.
forgot to mention that to get the cheap fares, not only do you have to specify which train you wish to travel on but you need to book in advance, and as these tickets are limited (no suprise there)you need to book as early as possible, otherwise you will end up paying the anytime fare which is double £35.50 good luck
Good to hear, I hope you enjoyed the trip. Catalans fans are always welcome in St Helens. I've been in love with you since I did a dance around the HJ with one after they knocked Wigan out of the Challenge Cup semi final a few years back
