So? He called it a knock on rather than the penalty. It's a very minor error.

No, he said the player accidentally played the ball forward with his foot, therefore it was an incorrect PTB and should have been a penalty.

Accidentally, not deliberately..he tried to play it correctly but he didnt lift his foot high enough and ball went accidentally forward, so scrum, if you accidentally drop the ball forward its not a penalty.

So do you think that when a player has played the ball incorrectly he has done it on purpose? The ball was placed on the ground and whether accidentally or not the player has not played the ball correctly.

Seen them ignored before. There was alot in the game that could have been ignored or penalised one way or the other. The play the ball was an easy spot, the hands in the tackle from both sides was much trickier to call, and everyone was at it.

Its completely different, if you stand at an angle and play the ball and it goes sideways then its incorrect ptb as acting half already has edge since he has already taken a step to side to retrieve it..if he deliberately just steps over ball to try and get a quick ptb its incorrect ptb, penalty, but if you attempt to play it and just don`t lift foot high enough, but do touch the ball with foot, you have attempted to play it right..therefore scrum.

It was neither a incorrect PTB or a knock on. He played the ball correctly, with his foot, just didnt play it well enough. What do you expect from James Childs though?
